In CT, not far from RottenGrott, a place bubbleheads know well..
Name of the boat – Neptune….no explaination needed……
“lost all his gear for fishing” – never had any in the first place b/c ya rented the boat….
Off for 4 days as a result of incident – long weekend away from the fun of Nebraska…
“it was no bonanza” – never liked that show anyway….
and, the capper: snagged the Montpelier – a Los Angeles class fast attack, commissioned 1991, very similar to the San Francisco, Los Angeles class fast attack, commissioned 1981 —-
I’m telling ya, if you MISSED the silent service THAT much, you could have just taken a nice tour of one – right?
I mean, if you WANTED your own boat, that’s ok, but as I understand it, decisions on CO’s are not done based on who can “reel in the big one”.

It’s a good try, but that would mean I’d have to be caught dead in Groton….
I mean, Nebraska is bad enough cold and snow wise, and I don’t have to stand topside watch here since I work in a hole in the ground!
