Leaks and Announcements
This Insta post has a transcript from congressmen who want to tell you something but are not doing so because the information is classified; they’ve been working to release what can be released and had a press conference announcing the current results.
This is as it should be.
I do wonder, however, if the information they are presenting includes the IEDs we found last year made of artillery shells with sarin in them, or the ones with mustard. Those were enemy mistakes, clearly; you don’t expend valuable sarin on a roadside bomb emplaced in such a way as to blow up the vehicle like a normal artillery round would.

Remember what we were told by all the talking heads on teevee when those chemical IEDs were discovered? Simple error. A chemical shell or two, which dropped off the truck that was hauling them to the UN-mandated disposal site, obviously got mixed in with regular munitions taken by the insurgents when they looted Saddam’s weapons lockers under our troops’ noses. And besides, a 155mm shell isn’t really a WMD, because it couldn’t kill all that many people.
But don’t forget the truck load of chemical agents seized in Amman, and the confession that the truck driver and friends were al Qaeda trying to blow them up in a mass casualty event. Oh yeah, that confession was extracted under torture, so isn’t valid. And besides, WMD wouldn’t ever be hauled around in plastic 55 gallon drums. Obviously, the truck was actually carrying chemicals for photographic development en route to delivery for the AP offices in Jordan. And it wasn’t in Iraq in any event, so has nothing to do with Saddam’s phantom WMD.
Say, I wonder whatever happened to all those trucks that the NGA director told us about convoying to Syria right before OIF started. Oh, silly me, that was truck loads of Saddam’s cash from Oil-for-Food headed to Swiss bank accounts.

If I remember correctly the shell that they were trying to blow up as an IED was a binary weapon. Talking heads told me not to worry it was only one..
Yet seeing as Talking heads saying all their Chem WMD’s are degraded the fact that a binary turned up causes me to question them.
According to the UN reports and talking heads Saddam had no binaries. The fact that only one exists would be contrary to the manufacturing process would it not?

On a side note, your talk of the declassification process being “as it should be” struck a chord given the New York Rag’s publishing of classified information…kinda hard for the good guys to win when the other side doesn’t play by the same set of rules.
