The Good Luck Keeps Coming
Note to self: It was a good thing to be supportive and not too nasty when jumping out of the car into several feet of water. The engine is probably ruined, but at least I was home so we could both get the rental car. The pass office (to get the car on base) opens up after the ship gets underway, so I will at least get a ride to the base before I walk the mile or so to the ship.
