Bolton Versus The BBC
This Hot Air link is to a slightly contentious interview between a familiar-sounding BBC presenter and moustache support system John Bolton. I found two things interesting in the interview worth noting:
- I remember the contention that kept Bolton from being confirmed involved his abrasiveness as a State senior leader. About the time of the confirmation, I met a fellow at State who hated Bolton because one of his buddies was the subject of one of the stories. About a minute into the interview, listen to what Bolton’s saying about his experiences at State and you might get some insight into the man and State. (Oren’s book, by the way, shows that the difficulty Bolton mentioned at State is not unique to our times.)
- I don’t think the interviewer really understands how he sounds to Bolton. I don’t think the interviewer has any idea that he comes across as mired in a particular political viewpoint. It’s that bad.
