Another example for the Skippy file–a lieutenant griping to a senator in print. I guess this is the next step in how things are done these days.
I think to be consistent I should also argue against using rank for access here–but there’s not much rank for access; I think the rank is in this case more ‘standing’ than ‘access’.

1st Lt Pete Hegseth’s real day job is as a conservative think tanker at the very conservative Manhattan Institute

Every view should be heard, but you should have revealed his real day job and his professional political ties should have been made known to your listeners. Pete is only a very part-time soldier who fools around a little bit in the Army NG. I honor his service. I even honor his opinion, but this organization Lt. Hegseth fronts is really kind of a GOP Swift Boating in reverse.
Please check the credentials of people who present that “just folks” facade while fronting causes.

“Listeners”? You enjoy reading from a script?
Dude, I don’t like clowns who only come to this site from a Google Alert or Technorati to air drop stuff about their pet rock.
You write “Only a very part-time soldier” and then “I honor his service”. These two statements do not support each other.
You also don’t know that “Swift Boat” means something different to people who don’t regularly put flag draped coffins on their posts for cheap political points.
Do you know anything about this site before you decided to mark on it? Do you know anything about the “just folks” involved in the argument?
You want astroturf? Try Fenton Communications. There’s freakin’ astroturf right there.
If you want to argue things on the merits–such as the ongoing discussion that your pet rock was used for an example–then do so. As it is you’ve lost ground before you can begin to convince me of anything.
