I couldn’t write a short story with a tool like this in it because people would think he was too stereotyped.
Update: Whacked by Victor Davis Hanson.

Or 95% of the commenters (the ones that I read through before giving up in disgust), either.

I had hoped someone would hold the good archbishop accountable for his self-servingly loose criticisms of U.S. intervention, but VDH’s rebuttal was better than expected. Hanson dropped his concrete rebuttals in one-ton blocks squarely on Williams’s head.
All the archbishop (the odd pope out?) was trying to do is restore some of his splintered congregation to a a semblance of the Canterbury Church’s former glory. Rowan Williams would probably have done better to proselytize over the Church of England’s position on Global Warming. Where do the Muslims stand on that anyway?

Methinks there was a typo – this seems more like the work of Rowan ATKINSON….

Not so long ago, I waited for Williams to say something important – anything – that would demonstrate his relevance as the head of an extremely large portion of the Christian Church world wide. The Anglican church, is currently splitting under his lack of leadership. And he chose this issue on which to speak out.
What a tool.
