Journalist Calls Other Journalist Coward, Stateside REMF Entertained
Okay, I realize I like this partially because I agree with the guy’s opinion, but I really like this article: A HuffPo journalist in Iraq gives a truly righteous beatdown to another journalist who doesn’t get it and is making his rep on not getting it. S.D. Liddick gets it, though, using a way of considering the situation that adds history and human nature into the context, and a political attitude worthy of South Park’s creators. The article makes points that would show up in a classics professor’s lecture without all the sweary words–we’ve seen this situation before, and it’s not pleasant or clean to make it better.
Comments on the article from brother Jules, who calls it “Sort of an updated, extended-play dance mix of ‘Holiday in Cambodia’.” Which fits–and adds to our milpunk theme this week.
Bruce over at Maggie’s Farm notes that they’ve been trying to correct journalist Dahr Jamail’s writing for a while now.
Moe Lane says “it’s not every day that you get to see the shell of a Marxist develop its first crack from a blow of the Hammer of Objective Reality.” Check his description of Doug Feith; it’s hilarious.

I’m actually not cool enough to be a REMF. Strictly civilian. :)

I’m not cool enough to be a FOBbit, so I figure REMF is close enough…
