Back “Home”
Well, I’m sitting in the San Diego airport en route to the ship again. No lease has been signed yet, but it looks as though my better half will sign it later today.
It’ll be interesting to see how many iterations we’ve gone through on the original plan for the upcoming ops–one of the (American) organizations is enamored of the “begin negotiations after everyone else came to agreement” school of planning. When you pile that onto the sheer number of stakeholders in this event, you get some true entertainment. (If you’re far away from it like I have been this week.)
I may have to close comments on the food fight. Not because of the inevitable tendency of comment threads like that to devolve into interminable “refight the arguments for/against the Iraq invasion” repetition, but because this cell phone can’t load more than about ten comments. I might have to reopen it somewhere else, or find some other solution.

I’m back in Norfolk for a few days. I hope to have pictures in a week or two. I have some Halifax photos but they may take a while to post since I can’t FTP from here.

Oh, Halifax was sodden indeed–but I met my wife there, and so actually remember some of the places I went to…
