The Cult of Personality is now on steroids.

And global. Snarks may put this down (see post just prior), but it shows America starting to regain the stature and respect it lost under the previous ship of fools.
The previous gang’s tool of preference was the military instrument, which they applied ineptly, at great cost in dollars and lives, and to the great detriment of current military readiness. The current administration is still engaged militarily, like the street sweepers after the horses pass, but the preference for diplomacy and adult leadership in the world is clearly evident. And acknowledged with this momentous prize. Snark away — this is a big deal.
Chap, you have a unique international perspective. What is it?

Achievements leading to Nobel’s 2009 Peace Prize are difficult to undertsand.
While, Nobel’s Literary awards have often been as surprising, we must now guess what benefits one candidate over the rest in Peace awards.
Makes me wish Warren Buffett had dedicated his fantastic wealth to an American equivalent of the Nobel Prize instead of donating it to wealthy Bill Gate’s foundation.

As Rubber Ducky would indicate, the Nobel seems to have been awarded on the promise of not being W.
While I am proud of the Commander in Chief, it sort of embarrassing for the Nobel Committee.
Stop awarding the prize. It now officially means nothing.

C’mon, Vigilis, that’s not what I said. A path towards global engagement, diplomacy, and an understanding of other nations and peoples is of merit on its own. That it contrasts so markedly with the last band of hapless twits reflects on those witless wonders, not on the case for leadership using instruments other than the bayonet.
Being the un-Bush is not a basis for an award and I didn’t say it was. Otherwise some green stuff growing in my pool might be eligible, it having more brains than the last Administration (it being nearly impossible to find anything they touched that they didn’t make worse … BTW, including the GOP).
