The Seemingly Small Things That Matter
Perhaps this is a parable. Compassion can be given with a curse and a grumble, but compassion it is.
A stupid greedy cat that got its head stuck firmly in a condensed milk tin can! The poor thing was so weak that it allowed us (the dogs and I) to approach it and it didn’t run. Mind you, how can it run if it can’t see where it’s going? It was scared for sure as its whole body was trembling. It was a big effort to get the dogs off it. It was lucky though because it was in a weakened state, rather run around on a normally busy road, and also that it somehow got itself on the verge, by a wall so it didn’t get squashed by a passing car.
Some people never had that spark of compassion. Mahmood had that spark, and his Den is better off for it.
