Voivonovich…
coulda saved some tears if he cared enough to actually, you know, attend the committee meeting he was supposed to. You know, the one that made the decision about Bolton.
Or even made a decision and voted him down in committee.
Now he’s reduced to crying on the Senate floor?

I think the V-man was crying because of that 220-volt fence he has so unadroitly straddled. He hates Bolton but he doesn’t want a horse head in his bed either.
As usual, my party has taken the sucker bait. We’ve focused on Bolton, his crankiness, his cherry-picking of intel, and his unilateral ways, rather than on what we should have — American foreign policy under Bush, its crankiness, the cherry-picking of intel, and our unilateral ways.
The problem ain’t Bolton, it’s Boltonism. Bush wins.

V was my governor when I lived in Ohio. Not a very interesting one either.

For the most part, the partisan stuff is only a smokescreen hiding what has been really going on in Washington (and that is as corrupt as hell). Want to know what it is? Check out Lawyer Kicker: the separation of powers between the three branches of government has been breached by one profession, and yes, some in both parties are implicated. VOINOVICH, George Victor, (1936 – ) is one of them: Ohio State University College of Law 1961; assistant attorney general of Ohio 1963. — VIGILIS

I was born and raised in Ohio. Voinovich had a good reputation as mayor of Cleveland and as governor. True, he wasn’t a very exciting guy, but he did a good job. But he’s been a bust as a senator. Guy can’t even buy a decent suit.
